Lost in the House!
Strange as it may sound it is nearly impossible to be lost in the house. Our house is a zone which is well known to us, so getting lost in a place where you spend a lot of time, sounds humorous. But I would like to realign your perspective here. Let’s read from the scripture in Luke 15:8-9 ”Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and say, Rejoice […]
Are you a green olive tree?
Psalm 52:8, “But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.” Everything mentioned in the Bible is significant and relevant. In fact you cannot change even a dot from the Bible without changing its meaning. Few days ago while listening to the sermon in our local Church, I got stuck at the verse, “but I am like a green olive tree…” Felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit to explore a bit more about the Green Olive Tree and when I did it just blew […]
Love your Neighbor
Mathews 22:35-40, “ Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” The two greatest commandments which Jesus spoke about! It is […]
Speak to the dry bones
For today’s meditation we would turn our attention to Ezekiel, Chapter 37 Ezekiel 37:1-10, The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest. Again he said unto […]
What’s your addiction?
For today’s meditation we would turn our attention to Paul’s first letter to the Church at Corinth and look at couple of verses from Chapter 16. 1 Corinthians 16:15, “I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)” Dictionary defines ‘Addiction’ as the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance or activity. Simply put anything which is done repeatedly and which one enjoys turns into an addiction. Though there are various addictions in world today like addiction […]
Go to the mountain!
Haggai 1:3-9, “ Then the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai: “Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin? ” Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” This is what the Lord […]
In All Things…
Romans 8:28 is an extremely powerful, popular and among the most preached verses of all time. It says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Wow! God works only for the good and not for bad of those who love him and are called by Him. That kind of promise no one on planet earth can give us no matter how powerful or how wealthy the person maybe. But at times we tend to forget this word from God especially when going […]
Every Talent Is Precious!
For this week’s meditation we would turn our attention to the Parable of Talents. Though the term talent in Bible referred to money however through this parable Jesus wanted to share about how each talent/gift given by God is to be used wisely and not wasted. Let’s read the parable from the Bible first. Matthew 25:14-30, “ Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five talents, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then […]
Gehazi, a life wasted!
For this week’s meditation we would turn our attention to the life of Gehazi, servant of Elisha. But before we come to him, let’s briefly look at Elijah and Elisha in order to set a context. Elijah was a powerful prophet of God and was used mightly by God. Bible tells us in 1 Kings chapter 19 that God spoke to Elijah to anoint Elisha as a Prophet to succeed him. Elijah did accordingly as mentioned in 1 Kings 19:19-21, “ So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, and […]
One of the beautiful aspect of a Christian life is that there is either right or wrong, nothing in between. Either White or Black, no grey areas in between! Though it simplifies the life of a Christian however in these times it also raises quite a few situations in which a Christian has to make a choice to either follow the Bible or compromise publicly or privately. For today’s meditation we would look at the lives of Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego and learn how never to compromise no matter what is infront of us. Let’s read about them in the […]
