James 2:17-20 KJV
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

We all have heard that Faith without Works is dead and even believe so BUT the big question is what all comes under “Work”

We have numerous examples in Bible of Men and Women of Faith who added action to their faith and have given us a ‘roadmap’ to follow.

Let’s see one such example, let’s say we fall ill, what would we do? Apart from taking prescribed medicines we would reach out to our Pastor or Elders of the Church to lay their hands on us, pray for us because we believe that God would listen to their pray and heal us.

But what happens when they are physically inaccessible like in today’s lockdown scenario? Do we keep sitting at home and do nothing but suffer?

You pray daily about it, asking God for healing but don’t see any improvement. You may start to think that your prayers are not heard by God!

We may start questioning our faith and start thinking that probably God wants us to suffer. Brothers and Sisters, you can’t be further from the truth. God wants you to be healed and though you may have faith but that faith needs be actioned in the right way.

Let’s look at one such example from the Bible:

Mark 5:24-29 KJV
And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. [25] And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, [26] And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, [27] When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. [28] For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. [29] And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

This woman had suffered much, was in a situation about which she could not talk about openly. She would avoid getting close to people so that they may not know her situation. She was desperate to be healed and that led her to Jesus. Like others she would have wanted Jesus to touch her and heal her but that did not look plausible today as Jesus was going with Jairus to heal her daughter. Bible says many people were following Jesus and were ‘thronging’ him. This was not the situation in which this woman wanted to meet Jesus.

But she was desperate, and that developed the faith in her that she would be healed if she is able to touch even his clothes. Instead of having Jesus touch her, she started having the faith that even if she touches Jesus she would be healed. And that faith made her bold and gave her the strength to push her way through to Jesus and ultimately touch his clothes. What happened next is beautiful, Bible says, she felt in her body that she was healed. Another translation of the Bible quotes, “and straightaway the fountain of her blood was dried up”. What a wonderful sight it was!

What can we learn today from this woman?

Her desperation to be healed led her to Jesus, her faith convinced her that all she needed to do was to touch his clothes and she would be healed and that led her to act accordingly.

What are you praying about today? Are you praying daily without fail? Has that ask become a standard and monotonous part of your prayer? If yes, then let me tell you God will NOT answer such a prayer!

Unless you are not fully convinced that God will answer your prayer (faith) and start reaching out to Him with that conviction and desperation like the woman (work), you would not get the answer.

Word of God clearly tells about this in the below mentioned verse…

Hebrews 11:6 KJV
But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Start diligently seeking Him, start praying more with conviction, start reading more about Him, start crying out to Him, start praying in Spirit and one day when the Holy Spirit gives peace in your heart that Jesus has heard your prayer then receive it believing that God has answered your pray and start acting accordingly and you would soon see the answer to your prayer with your own eyes!

God bless you!
